Name Your Passion

A magazine you can use

Passions besides work, named — with a first way to try them this week.

Each File is a person (later), why the thing matters, a first try this week, and the gear they actually use. This issue names fifteen passions. The featured File is photography. Pickleball has a File too.

Featured File

Tabletop of several hobbies: a film camera, houseplant, binoculars, pickleball paddle and ball, a LEGO flower, yarn and hook, an open book, and a trail map. No people.

The File / Photography

Shoot the whole roll on one walk.

Photography’s real on-ramp is a disposable camera, one walk, and lab scans — not a Leica, and not another folder of phone photos.

How a File works

Person, why, first try, what they use.

  1. 01

    A person

Later, an interview. This issue’s featured File is a field piece: one disposable, one walk, the whole roll — not a guest with a following.

  2. 02

    Why it holds

The practical reason people stay — time, cost, a game you can actually get — not a personality upgrade.

  3. 03

    A first try

Something you can do this week. A rec hour, a skein, a library card. Not “get started.”

  4. 04

    What they use

Two or three things, with a cost band. Buy links will be affiliate when they land. For now they are labeled placeholders.
